Srinagar May 24 (KNO): Expressing growing frustration among employees, Shah Fayaz, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) and Chairman JKTA Saturday expressed strong disappointment with the government for the unjustified delay in the release of 2% Dearness Allowance (DA) and the long-pending 1% HRA file.
“This delay is not only unfortunate, it reflects a Pattern of deliberate delay tactics by the administration,” Shah Fayaz stated in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “The 1% HRA file continues to gather dust despite consistent follow-ups. Meanwhile, the government remains indifferent to the hardships of employees.”
He further recalled that during the last interaction, the government had assured the leadership that the GPF system would be streamlined. “But that promise, too, remains unfulfilled. Employees are still facing hurdles in accessing their own savings. The credibility of such assurances is now under question,” he added.
Keeping in view the heat of the issue, Fayaz announced that the Amulgam (apex body of JKECC) has decided to convene a General Council meeting to finalize the future course of action.
“If the government continues to ignore our legitimate demands, employees across Jammu and Kashmir will be left with no alternative but to launch a coordinated protest. We are committed to a peaceful and democratic struggle for justice,” he said.
Fayaz urged the administration to take urgent and sincere steps to address these long-pending issues and avoid pushing the employee community to the streets—(KNO)
